I told them the bank bite had slowed down quite a bit but we would do our best to get em a mess of fish. I was getting a little concerned when the first spot only produced 18 then the second 22. This was far short of the 100 blues needed for a 4 person limit. The last spot produced the 60 along with 9 hybrids. So we just called calf rope and headed in. They was in a hurry to get back to the "Shady Lady" ranch. I didn't ask questions for fear of tainting my stellar reputation.

Cedar Creek Lake June 30, 2018.The lovely young couple Leonard and Susie Epps who reside in Teague, Texas came to "Get The Blues" today. This trip was sponsored by the Fairfield VFW and my friend Roger Brooke. The wind was rather high and the fish didn't cooperate to the fullest. We had one break the line with a rod in the rod holder. Some dummy(me)had the drag to tight. At any rate we had a grand old time reliving some of the ways of growing up extremely poor and making do with what we had. I mean how could you make do any other way. Leonard hogged the action catching both of the bluecat. The ruff water forced an early ending to the trip.

October 28, 2018 Sabine Pass Doug Hughes and I made our fall pilgrimage to Port Arthur to fish Sabine Pass. We have or thought we had this deal all figured out. As some plans of mice and men go we thought but failed to carry it out. This was the first evening and we managed to do OK, not great, or even good just OK.
October 29 Things looked up a dab, but way off of the normal clip.
October 30 as sometimes is the case today was a very humbling experience the early bite was just not there. One hardhead and that was it no other bites, so we tucked our tails with the skunk in the boat. Headed to the local bait shop, deli, foe star eatarie. There we received the tip of the day on where the reds was being caught. After filling up we headed out to the secrete spot. As most hot tips work out this one only added to the odorofus skunk smell. About to give up and head in we tried one more spot and it was on like Donkey Kong. Landing 3 nice bull reds and broke off or lost another 2 nice fish.
October 31 as we head out for a short morning hootnanny, if they are biting until 9:30 AM if they ain't we out of cheer at 8:30. Reminder-Don't pay the ransome honey I've escaped.
